FAQ
Let's Dive Deeper
When did you realize you were an artist?
"Once I picked up my first crayon, I was always drawing, coloring, and making things. As I got older, I began to look at it as a profession, and not just something I liked to do. I had my first ever public art gallery when I was only 11 years old."
How old were you when first became a mermaid?
"I first became a mermaid when I was 8 years old. I'll never forget my friends in elementary school. We even had a mermaid club."
What inspired you to become a mermaid?
"From when I was very young, I loved watching Barbie movies. Barbie was everything that I wanted to be; a modern day princess if you will. She worked hard and never gave up on her dreams."
What color was your first tail?
"My first tail was purple with a flowing fluke and scales that shone an iridescent rainbow!"
What does being a mermaid mean to you?
"For me, being a mermaid is all about expressing yourself creatively. Whether I have a tail, wings, or a beautiful dress on, my body becomes the canvas. Mermaids and sirens were commonly depicted as powerful and feminine beings. As a woman, their energy is truly inspiring to me.
However, being a mer person means something different to everyone. There are plenty of mermaids and mermen of every kind. If you want to become a merfolk, find your calling, and go for it!"
